You can recycle clothes, bags, shoes or textile household items in a clean and dry condition at the @eastcoasttc Textile Recycling Bins. These large yellow bins are conveniently located across 18 locations in East Coast. I encourage our residents to make good use of them and contribute to a green and more sustainable future! ♻️

Calling on fashion lovers! This #ClimateActionWeek, the Singapore Fashion Council and Cloop are offering options for you to stay in trend sustainably. You can transform your own pieces by picking up some upcycling tips at the Singapore Fashion Council’s workshop or simplyl drop off your preloved clothes at Cloop’s recycling bins found at 10 locations across the island. 

The textile recycling rate in Singapore is 4%. Properly managing and treating our textile waste can help to realise our vision of making Singapore a Zero Waste nation. Whether you choose to upcycle or send your preloved clothes to Cloop for recycling, you will be doing your part to reduce waste in Singapore.

#Didyouknow You can recycle your unwanted textiles, fabrics and clothes with the newly installed Yellow Cloop Textile Recycling Bins around town! 👕👖🧸

Part of PAP Town Council’s Action for Green Towns (AGT) plan, the initiative allows residents to recycle clothes, bags, shoes, belts, caps/hats, accessories and household items such as soft toys, pillows, towels and linens in any clean and dry condition (new or old). Just pack them in any bag within 50cm X 50cm, max. 7kg, and place them inside the bin.

The 2 bins in Telok Blangah are located at Blk 77 Telok Blangah Drive (in front of POSB ATM) and Blk 28D Dover Crescent (on grass beside service road).

We stumbled on a number of our specialized recycling bins, which are designated for the collection of textiles and other personal use items, such as bags and shoes. The brightly colored yellow bins can be found in clusters around #Anchorvale, and in time, these will also be rolled out to the other divisions of #SengkangGRC. We encourage residents to consider dropping off their preloved items—assuming they are in reasonable condition—in these bins, instead of disposing them. Depending on their state, the items are either resold in second-hand markets in Malaysia, sold for upcycling into other products, or (in the worst-case scenario) used as fuel along with coal to produce energy.

Thanks to our partners, Life Line Clothing, for their commitment to this work of reducing our impact on the planet. Their approach goes beyond the usual 3Rs of reuse, reduce, and recycle, to add another “R”: of renewing the lifespan of some of these donated items. The project is part of the ongoing effort by the town council to implement green initiatives across the estate.

As part of the Action for Green Towns initiative, there are now 7 new textile recycling bins in @ourtanjongpagar for us to recycle our clothes!

👚In addition to clothes, you can also recycle items such as bags 💼, shoes 👞, accessories, belts, hats/caps 🧢, and household items such as toys 🧸, pillows and linens, in any condition!
